Suzhou Tourism Sweepstakes Gives Consumers the Chance to Experience the Destination's Silk Making Heritage First-Hand

NEW YORK, Feb. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Suzhou Tourism has launched a sweepstakes giving consumers the chance to win a four-night trip to the charming city to learn about its rich cultural heritage, including the art of silk making.

Through February 26, 11:59 pm. EST, consumers are invited to visit traveltosuzhou.com to enter to win roundtrip airfare for one from a major North American gateway city, four nights of accommodations, a fully-guided tour of the destination including a visit to the No. 1 Silk Factory, a luxurious keepsake made from Suzhou silk, and a number of other travel-related prizes totaling more than $4,500.

Participants can earn additional entries by learning more about Suzhou silk via a captivating video produced by travel personality and influencer Kelley Ferro. In the video, Ms. Ferro follows the path of silk in Suzhou, from silkworms to scarves, while visiting some of the destination's top tourism sites such as the No. 1 Silk Factory and Xiu Niang Silk Shop. Bonus entries are also available to participants who share a photo on social media of an item of clothing they would like to "upgrade" with Suzhou silk, using the hashtag #MadeInSuzhou. Consumers can also follow Visit Suzhou on Instagram and Twitter, like Visit Suzhou on Facebook, and engage in other social media related actions to increase their odds of winning. All opportunities to obtain additional entries are embedded into the contest landing page.

The sweepstakes is part of Suzhou Tourism's year-long "Made In Suzhou" social media program that allows an online audience to virtually experience the destination through video content exploring its local traditions and cultural offerings.

Consumers interested in learning more about Suzhou and the many artfully crafted items produced in the destination can follow the destination's Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels (@VisitSuzhou), track the destination's official hashtags #TravelSuzhou and #MadeInSuzhou, or visit traveltosuzhou.com.
