Louisiana Launches "Feed Your Soul" Brand on Mardi Gras

BATON ROUGE, La., Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Louisiana Office of Tourism will officially launch the Louisiana: Feed Your Soul brand to the nation by bringing a taste of carnival season to four major cities across the southern United States ? Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. The brand launch coincides with Mardi Gras or "Fat Tuesday" which signifies the last day before Lenten season. Louisiana is a place where you can "Feed Your Soul" in any number of ways including its world-renowned cuisine, indigenous music or unique culture.

"We are bringing the flavor, spice and soul of Louisiana to cities across the South," says Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. "Just like Mardi Gras, Louisiana is about jumping in and participating. It's not for spectators. People from all over the world come to Louisiana because it's the place to feed your soul. Food, music, history, adventure - it's who we are. You can't truly experience the culture if you don't come see for yourself!"

To draw attention to the campaign, representatives from the Louisiana Office of Tourism and statewide tourism partners are traveling to each of these four major cities with one common goal: sharing the hospitality and celebration that make Louisiana a place to "feed your soul."

Louisiana-wrapped food trucks will serve Mardi Gras king cake amid a festival atmosphere with Mardi Gras music, beads and cups, along with a selfie station. Guests on-site can register to win a Louisiana trip for two!

Lt. Governor Nungesser will be in Washington D.C. handing out king cake and assisting tourism volunteers in promoting Louisiana and the new brand. "We're bringing the festival atmosphere with us," says the Lieutenant Governor. "It's the perfect moment to celebrate Louisiana. We're excited to bring a piece of that to our friends across the country."
