FSI Announces 2018 Winners of Best Sustainability Report Awards

MONTREAL, Feb. 1, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Finance and Sustainability Initiative ("FSI") is very pleased to announce the 2018 winners of its annual competition for best sustainability report:

The rapid growth of responsible investment practices means an increased demand for information on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues from publicly traded companies. The 2018 edition of the FSI Competition for Best Sustainability Report refocuses the report assessments on the investor perspective by asking the jury teams to pay particular attention to information contained in the reports that is material and decision-useful to investors.

Also new this year, overall and sector results are made available to the public on a dedicated online platform created by Metrio. Companies may also access their individual report assessment results from this platform on a confidential basis.

Now in its fifth year, this competition aims to promote excellence in sustainability reporting among Canadian public companies. All companies that are part of the S&P/TSX Composite Index are automatically eligible for this competition. Juries are composed of university students from several universities, including Concordia, HEC Montréal, McGill, Polytechnique Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM, and Waterloo.
