Phase two of the Halifax Ferry Terminal upgrades now underway

HALIFAX, Jan. 11, 2018 /CNW/ - Investing in public infrastructure supports efficient, affordable and sustainable transit services that help Canadians and their families get to work, school and essential services on time and back home safely at the end of a long day.

Andy Fillmore, Member of Parliament for Halifax, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Waye Mason, Deputy Mayor and Halifax South Downtown Councillor, Halifax Regional Municipality, today announced the start of phase two of infrastructure upgrades to the Halifax Ferry Terminal.

Completed in spring 2017, phase one of the Halifax Ferry Terminal project included the addition of a new tourism kiosk, a reintroduction of tenant space, and service room improvements.

Phase two upgrades involve the renovation of the washroom facilities and the installation of a modern ceiling acoustic panel system that will dampen unwanted noise and create a more welcoming area for passengers.

During this phase of the project a temporary washroom trailer will be located at the north side of the facility for the use of Halifax Transit passengers. The construction will not impact the ferry service schedule.
