Frank Catroppa has 'bullish' outlook into 2018 for his companies: Coast 2 Coast and Tier 1, plus others

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In the quickly growing energy and telecommunication sectors, Frank Catroppa's companies are making more than a splash. Catroppa, of Pittsburgh PA, says 2018 will be the best year yet for his emerging organizations.

Frank Catroppa, CEO of Coast 2 Coast and Tier 1

"2017 has been a successful year for both Tier 1 and Coast 2 Coast. We surpassed what we could have imagined and are now looking at 2018 being the year that we go to the next level. We set new goals, allocated serious capital investment dollars, and have big plans for the year to come," said Catroppa.

Catroppa's companies have been quietly growing year-over-year for almost a decade. Coast 2 Coast has transitioned into one of the nation's largest distributors for Comcast Cable and SunPower, and Tier 1 passed the 100-employee mark. Catroppa also launched My Energy Option LLC ("MyEnergyOption.com") in 2017 as a licensed electric and natural gas generation supplier/marketer, as well as Direct Marketing Agencies ("DMA") as a wireless sales group.

A year-in-review and 2018 outlook for Catroppa's companies:

Coast 2 Coast Companies: Coast 2 Coast, Catroppa's first brain child, has been growing at a steady pace for 8 years. In 2017, Coast 2 Coast became one of SunPower's largest national distributors of solar panels. With over 50 solar sales people across 6 states, Coast 2 Coast plans on growing into other solar territories in 2018.

"We are grateful for the SunPower partnership and are taking full advantage of their superior product. In the competitive solar arena, we knew that we needed the best product to sell in order to win and ultimately do right by our customers. I knew SunPower had that product and Frank was able to forge a successful partnership with them. Now, we are off to the races," stated Michael Piompino, Vice President of Solar Services at Coast 2 Coast.

Tier 1: In Q4 2017, Catroppa exercised a buy-out of the minority shareholders in Tier 1. Catroppa, although previously the majority shareholder, is now the sole equity holder of the company. The company's revenue has been growing month-over-month and its trucking division is scaling quickly.

"I still see a tremendous opportunity with gas and oil drilling over the next 5 years. Natural gas prices have been low, but remain steady, and crude has been on the rise. Companies are drilling, and our men are working. We have a commitment to invest $10 Million into our trucking operations division in 2018," Catroppa noted. "We expect to supersede the $25 Million revenue mark this year."

MyEnergyOption.com: My Energy Option LLC was formed in May 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coast 2 Coast. The company was granted an energy generation supply license in both Pennsylvania and Ohio, and is also active in New York, Texas, and Connecticut. The company is pending license approval in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Illinois.

"We are very excited about the coming year for My Energy Option. The company has already contracted over 20,000 Megawatt Hours of electric power in Q4 2017 and we are implementing advanced technology to help grow the organization. We have partnered with a private equity firm out of Houston and will be seeking other brokerage firms for acquisition in 2018. We are hoping to complete our first broker acquisition in Q1, a deal that has been in the works for a few months," said Catroppa.

Direct Marketing Agencies: DMA was founded in 2017 through a partnership between Catroppa and Bryan Liposky, also of Pittsburgh, to implement a marketing strategy for DishOne and Sprint Wireless. Coast 2 Coast will deliver the power of its back office in the partnership with Liposky, who is bringing a national sales strategy to the table.

"Direct Marketing Agencies is a fast growing, nationally based business that is centered around some of the best minds inside the Direct Marketing space. This includes leadership who formerly worked for the Elon Musk-owned SolarCity, recently acquired by Tesla. Direct Marketing Agencies currently offers the following services to its clients: Wireless, Telco, Energy, and Solar. DMA is also launching a Business Consulting Channel in early 2018," stated Liposky, Managing Partner of DMA

Catroppa, 35, is one of many young entrepreneurs helping to transform Pittsburgh into a business and technology hub. He mentioned a major announcement coming in Q1 2018 that will produce 25+ jobs in the local community. "We are excited for our business and for the future of Pittsburgh. 2018 will be a record year," he said.
