The donation provides warm winter coats, school uniforms (including underwear and socks) and a week of after school snacks for 10 students.

"The season reminds us what's truly important, and we want to give back on behalf of our clients who have been so supportive of Voccii," said company Principal Gayle Ireland. "We thank them for enabling us to give back to our community."

Founded in 1989, A Child's Place works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education by supporting students from kindergarten through 8th grade who are impacted by homeless crisis through a two-pronged approach - one for the child during the school day and another to help direct the family toward greater stability.

"The number of homeless children in Mecklenburg County has increased significantly over the past six years. For us to keep up with the growing need in our community the A Child's Place Board of Directors and staff have embarked on a 3-year strategic plan to reach and help every homeless child in Mecklenburg County.  With over 4,711 homeless children in our community we have a lot of work ahead of us," said Sandy Buchannan, President of the Board of Directors for A Child's Place.
