MedOptions Names Thomas McInerney as Chief Executive Officer


OLD LYME, Conn., Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MedOptions, the nation's leading provider of behavioral health services to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, announced today, the appointment of Thomas McInerney as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. McInerney joined MedOptions in May 2017 as President and Chief Operating Officer and has been instrumental in driving substantial improvement in the Company's support infrastructure and overall experience to its clinicians, customers and patients. Mr. McInerney succeeds Ed Mercadante, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the MedOptions Board of Directors.

Prior to joining MedOptions, Mr. McInerney served in a series of senior executive roles with Employer Direct Healthcare, LLC (EDHC), a Dallas, Texas-based provider of high-quality, cost-effective surgical solutions to large, self-funded employers and their members. At EDHC, Mr. McInerney's roles included Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Board Director and Senior Advisor. Prior to joining EDHC, Mr. McInerney held several operational roles in the private equity industry, where he led the design and implementation of operating initiatives focused on improving efficiency and standardizing business processes in companies across a number of different industries. Previously, Mr. McInerney held a number of senior operating roles within the financial services sector.

Mr. McInerney is an alumnus of Princeton University, where he completed his B.A. in History. He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
