Hisense Grows Connected Home Line with Appliances That Work with Amazon Alexa

SUWANEE, Ga., Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hisense, a leader in smart appliance technology, today announced its HiSmartTM Portable AC and HiSmartTM Dehumidifier series now both work with Amazon Alexa.

Additionally, the availability of both the Hisense 100-Pint Inverter Dehumidifier and the 46-Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler were also announced.

"We are always thinking about how we can best address the needs of our consumers and make their interactions with appliances more convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable," said Mark Viken, Hisense USA Vice President of Marketing. "Our new line of dehumidifiers, wine coolers and ACs do just that, and we are very excited that our HiSmartTM Air products now work with Amazon Alexa."

A Smarter Home

Featuring multi-directional air flow, a dual temperature display and library-quiet noise levels, the Hisense HiSmartTM Portable Air Conditioner unit is the perfect addition to any home. Consumers can control the unit with the HiSmartTM Air App via their smart phone from any location, or by asking Alexa (after linking accounts to any Alexa-enabled device such as Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show and more.) The unit provides cooling, fan and dehumidifier functions, and comes with a two-year parts and labor warranty.

Similar to the HiSmartTM AC Unit, the Hisense HiSmartTM Dehumidifier can be controlled through a WiFi-connected smart phone from anywhere. Users can also receive alerts and program humidity set points for better energy efficiency through the free HiSmartTM Air application (available on both iOS and Android.) Additionally, consumers can turn the unit on or off by asking Alexa after linking accounts to any Alexa-enabled device, such as Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show and more. The 70-pint dehumidifier comes with three dehumidification modes: auto, continuous and manual. The filter indicator will automatically alert users when it's time to wash the filter in order to minimize bacteria and odors, and the bucket full indicator helps users avoid overflows.

Stay Cool

Dehumidifiers with conventional compressors typically cycle on and off to hold a desired humidity level. The technology featured in the Hisense's 100-Pint Inverter Dehumidifier allows the compressor to vary its speed rather than turning off, thus consuming 40 percent less* energy. Consumers can also program an on/off timer ahead of time and choose a desired humidity set point. The unit can remove up to 100 pints of moisture within 24 hours, comes with a built-in pump that automatically empties the bucket, and has ultra low-noise operation levels (reaching as low as 36 dBA.)

Wine Down

If you're a wine connoisseur, or simply like to entertain, the 46-bottle Hisense wine cooler is a perfect fit for your lifestyle. The dual-temperature feature makes it easy to store both red and white bottles while maintaining higher humidity levels.  Thanks to this feature, users can properly store their wine and keep it at optimal temperature points, no matter the climate outside. Built-in, under-the-counter installation is simple, and the device's sleek and elegant style can fit into any kitchen design.
