LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Coming off a World Series win, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. continues to put his resources where his heart is: saving animals. The Lance McCullers Jr. Foundation is coming together with poundWISHES, a modern crowdfunding and product registry platform devoted to almost 900 animal welfare organizations, to save as many animals across the country.

poundWISHES CEO and NFL referee of 16 years John Hussey will join Lance McCullers Jr. on Saturday, December 9th to receive 25 dogs that are being transported from Houston, TX to Los Angeles, CA. Houston Pets Alive, a rescue directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey, has teamed up with both poundWISHES and Lance McCullers Jr. Foundation to make this possible.

CEO John Hussey agreed: "I'm excited about our partnership. We're a part of something bigger than we could ever imagine? an aligned mission to do good for animals. Being able to work together with Lance will open doors for the rescue and shelter community."

The transport will be made by Cloud Nine Rescue Flights, who has played an active role in transporting displaced pets out of the affected hurricane areas. Shelter Hope in Thousand Oaks, Vanderpump Dogs, El Cajon Animal Shelter, and Theresa's Country Feed will be receiving the dogs when they arrive in California.
