40th Annual Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids Sunday, December 17, 2017


TORONTO, Nov. 30, 2017 /CNW/ - On Sunday, December 17, 2017, hockey fans of all ages will have the opportunity to skate with Toronto Maple Leafs players at the 40th Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids. Participants who pay or fundraise a minimum of $200 will hit the ice with current Leafs players for a 45 minute session at MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence, the Leafs' practice facility in Etobicoke, from 1:30 p.m. ? 2:15 p.m.

Fans will have the opportunity to skate alongside the players, and a complimentary lunch will be provided at the end of each session courtesy of Pizza Pizza and Coca-Cola.

Media personalities hosting sessions at this year's Skate are Evanka Osmak from Sportsnet, Christine Simpson from Hockey Night in Canada and Sportsnet, and Gord Stellick from Sportsnet and SN 590 The FAN.

"Events like the Skate enable Easter Seals Ontario to provide programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities throughout the province," says Kevin Collins, President and CEO, Easter Seals Ontario. "We're thrilled to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Skate and we're extremely grateful to the Toronto Maple Leafs for their long-standing commitment and support for Easter Seals. We're all looking forward to another fun-filled afternoon out on the ice."

Incentives including Leafs promotional items will be offered for participants who raise more than $250. Spectator tickets will be available for $30 on the day of the event.

This is the 40th year of the annual Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids, an event that has raised more than $6.8 million for Easter Seals Ontario. Proceeds from the Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals Kids will help provide programs that give kids with physical disabilities the chance to experience freedom, independence and a sense of accomplishment. Easter Seals offers funding for costly mobility equipment and communication devices, as well as summer camp opportunities at its two properties, Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden.
