Brian Bowen II Seeks Transfer Opportunity

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- From the Law Offices of Jason A. Setchen, P.A.: On Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, Brian Bowen II learned via Twitter of the University of Louisville's decision not to seek NCAA reinstatement on his behalf. It should be known that Brian has fully cooperated with the University of Louisville with respect to their independent investigation into alleged improper benefits concerning inter alia the University of Louisville, Adidas and various individuals.

Brian was very upset to learn of the University's decision not to stand by him and seek reinstatement on his behalf. Brian's decision to accept an athletic scholarship from the University of Louisville was organic and not the result of any improper or impermissible benefits. Since first learning of the allegations pertaining to this situation, Brian always (a) denied any wrongdoing; (b) denied any prior knowledge of the purported schemes to influence his decision to attend the University of Louisville; and (c) denied that he received any direct or indirect benefit(s) from said purported schemes. While Brian is extremely dismayed by the University's decision concerning his eligibility, he is excited by the prospect of seeking a new opportunity at another NCAA Division I University.

Brian's Miami-based attorney, Jason A. Setchen, Esq., anticipates that Brian will ultimately be deemed eligible to play collegiate basketball. Per Mr. Setchen, "Brian is in the process of evaluating all of his options given this unexpected and unfortunate decision by the University of Louisville. First and foremost, everyone needs to remember that Brian Bowen II is still just a kid. Brian knew nothing of the alleged impermissible activities and he has done nothing wrong. Brian is the true victim in all of this. Those who know Brian understand that he is a resilient young man and that he will overcome this terrible situation." Mr. Setchen further stated, "Brian is still 100 percent committed to fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing college basketball and competing for a National Championship." Per Mr. Setchen, "The University of Louisville has given Brian permission to contact other universities now that their intentions have been made known. The evidence supports that Brian's selection of Louisville was not the result of any improper benefits and the evidence overwhelmingly supports this contention. The NCAA is aware of this evidence and we are confident that Brian will ultimately be deemed eligible to play college basketball again for another university."

Brian is presently enrolled in classes at the University of Louisville and intends to remain in Louisville until further notice.
