Nelco Announces New Distance Rated Discus
DALLAS and MERRITT, Ind., Nov. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New technology provides a stronger more durable Discus and more stable flight with Nelco RimGlide TM characteristics.
In the past, it was always a guess as to what Rim weight you needed to get the distance. Now the NelcoTM discus are rated by the potential distance they can maintain with stable flight over 155' up to 246'. Weight distribution is positioned to accommodate more RimGlide TM. For years, throwers relied on the discus rim weight to spin and create a Gyro affect to maintain aerodynamic stability. New tests have discovered that once a hi-rim discus stops spinning during the flight, the rim weight causes the discus to dive prematurely and shorten the distance potential. Re-tooling for this new technology allowed the manufacturer Nelco LTD India to add increased durability with their new PMD SIDE PLATES (Preventive Mechanism Against Damaged) built into their High Performance YELLOW ABS Plates. Rarely will the plates break from normal use.
