/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Minister McKenna to participate in the 29th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol/

MONTRÉAL, Nov. 22, 2017 /CNW/ - Media representatives are advised that the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will meet with delegates from around the world to continue the advancement and implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the newly ratified Kigali Amendment.

Minister McKenna will open the high-level segment and participate in a ministerial round table with representatives from other countries and with the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, Erik Solheim.

Following the event, the Minister will be available to answer questions, at 1:10 p.m., outside 7b (on the 3rd floor).

Later, Minister McKenna will provide opening remarks and present the Political Leadership Award at the Ozone Awards ceremony, which recognizes the achievements of individuals, groups, and organizations for their contributions to the progress of the Montreal Protocol.

Please note: Due to building security requirements, all media representatives must preregister by email with Environment and Climate Change Canada's Media Relations, no later than 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Failure to preregister could delay and potentially prevent access to the building. In addition, media representatives should arrive at least 45 minutes in advance to allow for time to pass through security and to register.
