WinterFest at Worlds of Fun Opens November 24


KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Midwest's newest and most immersive holiday tradition, WinterFest, opens at Worlds of Fun on Friday, November 24 and will entertain guests on select dates through December 30. During WinterFest, Worlds of Fun will be magically transformed into 10 winter wonderlands where guests can experience the lighting of a seven story Christmas tree, 10 world class holiday shows, ice-skating and cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus.  Meet 16 iconic holiday characters, experience more than two dozen rides, write a letter to Santa and enjoy scrumptious holiday fare at numerous dining locations to make this a new holiday family tradition.

The winter scene will be dominated by one of Kansas City's tallest Christmas trees.  Each night a special family will be chosen to flip the switch and turn on the millions of lights on the seven story tree in International Plaza. WinterFest is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through December 30th, with daily operations December 18th-23rd and 26th-30th. Hours of operation are 5pm-10pm.

There will also be a hospitality room to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of America.  Worlds of Fun is partnering with BGCA to provide a warm and relaxing destination for WinterFest guests, where they can warm up and enjoy a cup of hot cider and make a donation to the club that will bring cheer to thousands of Kansas City area children.

Worlds of Fun & Oceans of Fun is a 235-acre amusement and water park in Kansas City, Mo. featuring more than 100 family rides, thrill rides, waterslides, shows and attractions including seven world-class roller coasters.
