ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc., Launches "5 for $5" Campaign

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwired - November 22, 2017) - ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. kicked off its 5 for $5 Campaign, which encourages supporters to donate $5 or more to ThyCa and tag five friends on social media to also participate. Proceeds from this awareness and fundraising effort will help ThyCa fund its research grants, as well as free support and education programs worldwide. To-date, ThyCa has funded nearly $2 million in research for new thyroid cancer treatments and better understanding of this disease. Donations of any size can be made on the ThyCa website.

"Thyroid cancer is one of the fastest growing cancer diagnoses in the United States today, driving a growing need for research, education and support for survivors," said Gary Bloom, ThyCa executive director and thyroid cancer survivor. "As an organization of survivors, we're calling upon our community to participate in the 5 for $5 campaign to help ThyCa continue our important mission of providing free support and education while funding medical research to help all of us affected by thyroid cancer."

Participants are encouraged to post on social media why they are donating, use the hashtag #ThyCa5for5 and then tag five friends to participate. Those who are unable to donate are encouraged to participate by tagging tag five friends to help bring attention to ThyCa's mission and drive greater awareness of thyroid cancer. ThyCa is on Facebook at www.facebook.com/THYCA-231492537404 and Twitter @ThyCaInc.
