New Series Explores Why Business and Industry Love South Texas

A new discovery series called The Big Opportunity is helping business leaders and site selection consultants better understand and appreciate what makes Harlingen and the Texas?Mexico border region such a great place by exploring the features and benefits that matter most to businesses.

The Big Opportunity's premiere episode explores the Free Trade International Bridge at Los Indios. This international crossing between Mexico and the United States allows manufacturers in the maquiladoras located in the northern Mexican cities of Matamoros, Reynosa, and Monterrey to quickly, easily bring goods into Texas and the Harlingen Industrial Park for easy distribution from rail, land, air, or sea. A new cold-storage inspection facility is also being built at the border crossing so fresh produce from farms in Mexico stay fresh while undergoing inspection at the port of entry.
