The Prime Minister announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service


OTTAWA, Nov. 17, 2017 /CNW/ - The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:

Ava G. Yaskiel, currently Partner and Global Head of Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions and Securities with Norton Rose Fulbright, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, effective February 5, 2018.

Thao Pham, currently Senior Vice-President, Operations, Parks Canada, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Transport, effective November 20, 2017.

The Prime Minister also announced Jonathan Fried, currently Coordinator, International Economic Relations with Global Affairs Canada, will also serve as the Personal Representative (Sherpa) to the Prime Minister on the G20. Mr. Fried will help shape the agenda of the next G20 Summit, and will support the Prime Minister's efforts to show Canada's strong leadership internationally and to champion a progressive agenda.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate Helena Borges, Associate Deputy Minister of Transport, on the occasion of her upcoming retirement from the Public Service, in January 2018, following a distinguished career marked by dedication and excellence in serving Canadians.
