500 amateur athletes will try to climb the 1,013 steps of Place Ville Marie in record time

MONTREAL, Nov. 13, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The 20^th RBC Challenge for Centraide?a relay race up one of Montreal's tallest skyscrapers to raise money for the 2017 Centraide Campaign?will be held on November 15, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.

Just over ten athletes will team up and go head to head with 500 employees from companies to try and beat the record of 2 minutes 38 seconds up the 1,013 steps to the 41st floor of Place Ville Marie.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event:

DATE: Wednesday, November 15, 2017

TIME: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

LOCATION: 1 Place Ville Marie, Montreal
(Enter via Robert-Bourassa Blvd. The RBC Challenge will start on the ground floor on the south side facing René-Lévesque Blvd.)

Athletes taking the challenge include:

• Lex Albrecht (cycling)
• Alex-Anne Gagnon (freestyle skiing, moguls)
• Marc-Antoine Gagnon (freestyle skiing, moguls)
• Ecaterina Guica (judo)
• Steph Horner (swimming)
• Mikaël Kingsbury (freestyle skiing, moguls)
• Sandrine Mainville (swimming)
• Lizanne Murphy (basketball)
• Pierre-Luc Poulin (kayak)
• Jacqueline Simoneau (synchronized swimming)
• Dori Yeats (wrestling)

All money raised through sponsorships and donations will go to Centraide's 2017 campaign, which runs until the end of December and supports nearly 350 agencies that help one out of seven people in Greater Montreal.
