Hilton San Diego Bayfront Presents Holiday by the Bay to Support Local Military

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hilton San Diego Bayfront is excited to announce its second annual Holiday by the Bay programming from Nov. 24, 2017 to Jan. 1, 2018. The festive program will benefit the United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) San Diego, which supports America's military service members, and will turn the hotel's Bayfront Park into a winter wonderland including an outdoor ice rink, miniature holiday-themed golf course and much more.

The Holiday by the Bay rink will be the only outdoor ice rink in downtown San Diego for the holiday season. The rink is open to the public, family-friendly and available for private parties. Guests will be able to enjoy ice skating Monday through Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 to Dec. 17, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Holiday ice skating hours are Dec. 18, 2017, to Jan. 1, 2018, Monday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Christmas Day hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission rates are $20 per adult and $15 for children five years old and under. Military personnel and their families will receive a $5 discount on admission. For unlimited ice skating, season passes are available for $75 for children and $95 for adults. Ice skate rentals, 90-minute ice skating time and a donation to the USO San Diego are included in the admission rates.

To kick-off Holiday by the Bay, Hilton San Diego Bayfront will have a ribbon cutting opening at the ice rink on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at 6 p.m. Bayfront Park will transform into a winter wonderland with festive décor, a miniature golf course, themed holiday food and beverages, live entertainment, raffle prizes, Santa himself and much more.

San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer has proclaimed Nov. 25, 2017 as "Hilton San Diego Bayfront Holiday by the Bay Day" in the City of San Diego. The opening ceremony is open to the public and is complimentary to attend.  

Near the ice rink will be Rudolph's "Tees The Season" Mini Golf 9-hole course, that takes golfers on a holiday adventure with surprises around every turn. For a $10 ticket, golfers will encounter nutcrackers, melting snowmen, a stand-up paddleboard Santa and more! With 9-Holes, the miniature golf course along the San Diego Bay is sure to entertain the whole family and is perfect for birthday parties.

The hotel's ice rink will feature fun themed days throughout the season:

• Mondays ? Hospitality Industry Night
• Tuesdays ? Ugly Holiday Sweater Skate Night
• Wednesdays ? Decades Night featuring music from the 1960s to the 2000s each week
• Thursdays ? Trivia Night
• Fridays ? Date Night
• Saturdays ? Special events every Saturday including Country Night, Island Rhythm, Rainbow Night, Holiday Fest and Glow Bright Night

Attractive holiday-themed room packages are available this holiday season with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the USO San Diego:

• The Holiday by the Bay package includes guest room accommodations and ice skating passes with rates starting from $133/night.
• Military Holiday by the Bay package features a 10 percent savings on the Holiday by the Bay Package with rates from $119/night with Military ID.
• A Bayfront Christmas package includes guest room accommodations, daily ice skating, daily continental breakfast for two and cookies with milk. Rates start from $203/night.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by a life-size gingerbread house in the hotel lobby, which was built in-house by Master Pastry Chef Rudi Weider. It took Chef Weider and his culinary team over three months to bake, decorate and assemble this over-the-top gingerbread house and it costs an estimated $10,000. A 14-foot decorated Christmas tree will also be displayed in the hotel, providing the perfect backdrop for a family photo.

Seasonal themed movies will be shown under the stars in the Promenade Plaza for the whole family. Movie snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Movies are open to the public and complimentary. Showtime starts at 7 p.m.:
