PJM Honored With United Way Impact Award For Charitable Giving And Volunteerism

VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PJM Interconnection, operator of the nation's largest power grid, has received the United Way Impact Award from the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. The award recognizes a company for outstanding results in the areas of charitable giving and volunteerism.

In 2017, approximately 285 PJM employees volunteered to help local charitable organizations including Philabundance, Cradles to Crayons, Manna on Main Street, North Light Community Center and the Elmwood Park Zoo.

PJM has a Volunteer Day program that allocates each employee one day off per calendar year, with pay, that can be used for volunteer activities.

PJM employees also contributed $150,000 to the United Way campaign in 2017.

The Impact Award will be presented to PJM during the 20th Annual HR Department of the Year Awards Dinner Nov. 16 in Philadelphia.
