Purposetm Reduced Emissions Program Plants Trees in Chicagoland

CICERO, Ill., Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The PRIDE Purposetm teamed up with the Chicago Region Trees Initiative (CRTI), through The Morton Arboretum to plant trees in Chicagoland. Together they planted trees at J. Sterling Morton High School East, last Wednesday. The school had been in need of some trees and The PRIDE Store volunteers, along with Morton East students, planted 15 shade trees around the high school's campus. The Purposetm program, powered by GreenPrint, has planted over 2,500 trees and reduced over 13 million gallons of fuel since its launch this May.

Last Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 PM, volunteers from The PRIDE Stores and CRTI planted shade trees to create a long-lasting impact at J. Sterling Morton High School East.  Schools around the nation continue to see the great impact trees can have on a learning community, and Purposetm is thrilled to bring these efforts to Morton East. The trees will create new learning and study areas for both the students and the staff.

"We thank The PRIDE team's Purpose program for its support of our tree planting at J. Sterling Morton High School East," said Emily Okallau, Community Trees Project Coordinator at The Morton Arboretum. "Studies show that trees on school grounds help students achieve better academic results, and we are happy to participate in a project that will provide those and other benefits for years to come."

Created through a partnership between The PRIDE Stores and GreenPrint, the Purposetm program will continue to make strides in making a positive impact on Chicagoland and the environment.  Consumers can now reduce their emissions by simply purchasing the same high-quality fuel they have always pumped at The PRIDE Stores. The Purposetm program will do the heavy lifting of automatically calculating tailpipe emissions and will invest in carbon projects to reduce those emissions in the atmosphere by up to 25%.
