TimkenSteel Accepts American Legion National Large Employer of Veterans Award During Event Recognizing Company's Veteran Workforce

CANTON, Ohio, Nov. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TimkenSteel Corporation (NYSE: TMST, www.timkensteel.com), a leader in customized alloy steel products and services, was honored to accept The American Legion Large Employer of Veterans Award at an annual company breakfast held this morning to recognize members of its workforce who are military veterans. The company is the leading employer of veterans in Stark County and one of the leading employers in Ohio, with more than 13 percent of its workforce having served in the military.

During one of several events TimkenSteel held today to honor its employees who are military veterans, Elaine Russell Reolfi, executive vice president of organizational advancement & corporate relations, accepted the American Legion National Large Employer of Veterans Award from Brad Teis, American Legion first vice district commander (left). Shown on right is William Moore, program delivery manager, Bureau of Workforce Services, whose team nominated TimkenSteel for the award.

"Today was about thanking our employees who have served our country, and it's an event we look forward to every year. We all appreciated the honor of having the American Legion and partner agencies join us to recognize our efforts at TimkenSteel to attract and retain such a large number of military veterans in our workforce," said Elaine Russell Reolfi, executive vice president of organizational advancement and corporate relations, who accepted the award on behalf of TimkenSteel. "Military veterans are a great fit within our company because of their leadership, dedication and, most importantly, a set of values that reflect those we've had for a century."

The annual Employer of Veterans awards, presented by The American Legion's National Veterans Employment & Education Commission since 1969, are given to businesses across the country that have established outstanding records in employing and retaining veterans, workers with disabilities and older members of the workforce.

TimkenSteel was nominated for the national award by representatives from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, which is just one of several agencies the company works with to recruit and retain veterans.

In August, the company was also recognized by the Ohio Department of Veterans Services for its veteran-friendly hiring and retention practices.
