AAMA Installs Frank J. Favata III, CMA (AAMA), BS, as Trustee

CINCINNATI, Oct. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) met in Cincinnati, Ohio, for its 61st Annual Conference. Frank J. Favata III, CMA (AAMA), BS, was installed as the 2017?2019 AAMA Trustee. In this capacity, Favata, a resident of Derry, New Hampshire, represents medical assistants and CMAs (AAMA) across the nation.

Medical assisting is one of the nation's careers growing much faster than average for all occupations, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Medical assistants work in outpatient health care settings. Employers are seeking and recruiting these allied health professionals because of their uniquely diverse clinical and administrative patient-centered training.

Trustee Favata states, "I am extremely honored to have been elected by my peers to serve as a trustee of the AAMA for the 2017?2019 term. I pledge to work diligently in keeping the CMA (AAMA) credential the standard for excellence in medical assisting. The AAMA's 61-year history illustrates the commitment of our past leaders in building our credential to be the best. I plan to continue their commitment by serving the members of the AAMA and the partnerships that we have created at the highest possible level. All of our members working together will continue to increase the recognition of the CMA (AAMA) credential and make the AAMA a stronger leader in the medical profession."

Trustee Favata brings a great deal of experience to her office. She has been serving as a CMA (AAMA) since 2010, starting with her work with Manchester Urology Associates in Manchester, New Hampshire. She then spent two years working in several family practice facilities for Core Physicians before joining Lamprey Health Care, her current employer, in its practices in Raymond and Newmarket. Lamprey Health Care is a nonprofit community health center specializing in family practice. In addition, Trustee Favata works part-time at Palliativity Medical Group LLC in Bedford, New Hampshire, established in January 2015 as the first practice of its kind.

Trustee Favata is a transgendered member of the community, male to female, and practices as Franky Favata. Trustee Favata is comfortable with the use of any female or male pronouns when referring to her/him. She kindly thanks you for being respectful.

Trustee Favata has served in many capacities for the AAMA, including as a member of the Task Force for Test Construction and as the vice president and president of the New Hampshire State Society of Medical Assistants.

The Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) ? or CMA (AAMA) ? credential represents a medical assistant who has been credentialed through the Certifying Board (CB) of the AAMA. The CB of the AAMA was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) under ISO 17024, the global benchmark for personnel certification bodies, representing powerful evidence of quality, efficiency, and safety.

A rigorous credential, the CMA (AAMA) is the only certification that requires college-level education. Only candidates who graduate from an accredited medical assisting program are eligible to sit for the CMA (AAMA) Certification Examination. The CMA (AAMA) Certification Examination maintains physician-quality exam standards. It is the only medical assisting exam that uses the National Board of Medical Examiners to construct and administer the exam. As a result, the reliability and validity of the CMA (AAMA) credential are of the highest order.

Certification status is a matter of public record and may be released. Every day, the AAMA responds to more than 100 employer requests for CMA (AAMA) certification verification ? for both current and potential employees.

The mission of the American Association of Medical Assistants is to provide the medical assistant professional with education, certification, credential acknowledgment, networking opportunities, scope-of-practice protection, and advocacy for quality patient-centered health care.
