Community Health Network to Leverage Stanson for Real Time Clinical Decision Support and Analytics

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Stanson Health, a next-generation Clinical Decision Support (CDS) and analytics company, today announced that Community Health Network will implement Stanson Health's Clinical Decision Support and Stanson Analytics.

Community Health Network, a not-for-profit comprehensive health system based in Indianapolis, is engaging with Stanson Health to facilitate their clinical and practice transformation initiatives.  Their transition to value-based care will require operational drivers that reduce variation in care and take costs out. By hardwiring Stanson's CDS into their EHR, Community expects to see major savings in utilization.  Community will also use Stanson Health's CDS Analytics to track physician behavior change and optimize clinical workflow.

"We chose to partner with Stanson because we believe their tools and evidence-based content will enable us to deploy a more efficient and effective CDS strategy to support our clinicians.  Stanson will allow us to remove irritating friction from our system and help return clinicians to the joy of medicine," said Patrick McGill, MD, Senior Vice President Clinical Strategy at Community Health Network.  "Once fatiguing elements are removed from our current environment, we can introduce the Stanson rules, which are very patient and situation specific.  All of this moves us toward higher quality and more cost-efficient patient care."

"At Community, our motto is Exceptional Care, Simply Delivered.  Every patient, every day from every caregiver; simple, efficient, affordable care.  Conversely, healthcare is becoming more regulated, more complicated, and more expensive to provide.  We believe Stanson Health will support our clinicians' decision making, so they can deliver on our promise without making their lives more difficult," said Jim Read, Jr, Senior Vice President Product Line Strategy at Community Health Network.

As a non-profit health system with more than 200 sites of care and affiliates throughout Central Indiana, Community's full continuum of care integrates hundreds of physicians, specialty and acute care hospitals, surgery centers, home care services, behavioral health, and employer health services.  Community Physician Network is the largest network of Primary Care providers in Indiana.  Community Health Network is also the largest Indiana provider of home care services.  Community providers accounted for over 2 Million patient encounters last year.

Stanson Health is leading the charge to provide clinicians with real-time, patient-specific, evidence-based advice at the point of care.  Stanson's clinically validated rules set enables higher quality and more cost-efficient care at every visit.   Additionally, Stanson's comprehensive CDS analytics suite empowers health systems to combat alert fatigue and optimize clinician workflow by providing critical intelligence on CDS performance, order set utilization, and provider follow rates.

"Community Health Network is well known for high value care delivery," said Ryan Nellis, Chief Commercial Operations Officer for Stanson Health.  "Community and Stanson share a strong commitment to moving the needle towards better patient outcomes, lower costs and improved clinician happiness.  We are proud and excited to be working with them."
