Tropic Science Co., Ltd. and China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co., Ltd. announced the investment to PEACE submarine cable project

HANGZHOU, China, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tropic Science Co., Ltd. and China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co., Ltd. today announced the investment to PEACE submarine cable project. During the 3rd Asia Pacific Submarine Networks Forum, Tropic Science, China-ASEAN Information Harbor, China Construction Bank and Huawei Marine Networks signed an MOU for the construction of PEACE submarine cable project.

The PEACE project, spanning approximately 6,800 km will connect South Asia (Pakistan) and East Africa (Djibouti / Kenya). With this innovative solution, the PEACE cable will enable the shortest cable route from China to Africa and Europe via land cable transit. China Construction Bank will provide financing solutions for the PEACE project.

From the project owners' perspective, the capacity market of Africa is more attractive than many other regions as Africa's network is developing rapidly and the number of internet users is rising. The construction of international information highway - submarine cable, is the basic guarantee for the interconnection with the neighboring countries. PEACE can become an important enabler of East Africa telecommunication and the social economy in the coming years.

The implementation of PEACE cable will be started from November of 2017 and will be ready for service by the Q3 of 2019.
