LJUNGSTRÖM has Completed the Heavy Erection Installation of Gas-Gas Heater for ZW Nowa Power Plant

D?BROWA GÓRNICZA, Poland, Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LJUNGSTRÖM has completed the heavy erection installation for a contract awarded by GE Power for the supply and delivery of a Tail-End DeNOx Ljungstrom® Gas-gas heater (GGH) for the ZW Nowa Power Plant; a 150-megawatt coal and heat plant in D?browa Górnicza, Poland.

LJUNGSTRÖM, a division of ARVOS Group, is a global science and technology solutions leader for the thermal power plant market, with two key applications: air preheaters and gas-gas heaters. Headquartered in Wellsville, New York, LJUNGSTRÖM has a large global presence, with offices and factories in all major continents. Globally, LJUNGSTRÖM products save billions of dollars annually, and provide up to 25% less fuel consumption. In addition, efficiency improvement of LJUNGSTRÖM technologies has helped to reduce global warming by preventing over 50 billion tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, contributing to a more sustainable and energy efficient world. This contract, for the retrofit of the existing five OPG-230 boilers, will introduce performance improvements and emission reduction in order to meet more demanding regulations on NOx emission. The ZW Nowa installation, with GE's own patented semi-dry NID tm modules, will treat 1.600.000 Nm3/h of flue gas and will be one of the biggest semi-dry FGD installations ever built in Europe.

Project execution was performed primarily in Heidelberg, Germany, with components being supplied through LJUNGSTRÖM's European supply chain.

"LJUNGSTRÖM is proud to be partner of GE Power," said LJUNGSTRÖM Heidelberg Unit Managing Director, Dennis Yilmazoez. "This contract represents a larger-scale and diverse effort to meet the new emission standards that Europe has defined for emissions generated by electric energy and heat generation processes."
