SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sientra, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIEN), a medical aesthetics company, today announced that it is Expanding What's Possible through the launch of Full Circletm, a first-in-kind annual charitable program to support research of breast cancer prevention, detection, and treatment and elevate awareness among the breast cancer and breast reconstruction community. As part of the Full Circletm program, Sientra will donate a portion of every tissue expander sale to breast cancer support and awareness initiatives, thereby giving every impacted breast reconstruction patient a direct influence on the furthering of breast cancer research, prevention and awareness.
"We hear stories every day about how education and access to options help women reconstruct their bodies and their lives after difficult journeys, but we realize new sources of funding are critical," said Dr. Kamakshi R. Zeidler, founder of Aesthetx, a premier plastic and aesthetic surgery practice in Northern California. "I am touched by what Sientra is doing to honor this special group of patients and am thrilled that they are supporting the work of nonprofits and research organizations. This is truly an emblem of hope for breast cancer aid and research."
The program will issue a call for applicants in early 2018, and will provide grants for up to three nonprofit organizations or research projects. Full Circletm grants are open to any U.S.-based breast cancer research organization, groups providing funding for breast reconstruction, scientific research groups focused on breast cancer, or any other related organization. Grants will be dispersed to charities or research projects with the most promising visions for supporting the community and advancing the cause of breast cancer research.
