Sherwood Ford raises funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Thanks to many donations throughout the community, Sherwood Ford has been able to donate $8,000 to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The money was raised through fundraisers such as the All-Ford Classic Car Show the dealership held this past August, as well as many test drives community members have driven.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation has made great strides over the years in studying and testing ways of preventing and treating cancer in people of all ages. Unfortunately, cancer is something that affects the life of every citizen in every province in Canada in one way or another. While each case is different, the Alberta Cancer Foundation has been seeing an increasing amount of survival rate with those who suffer from brain cancer. The higher survival rate is in part thanks to the many donations made by organizations such as Sherwood Ford, and by many people throughout the province.

Those interested in learning more about how to get involved with finding a treatment to many different kinds of cancer are encouraged to speak with a member of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. In addition to the events the Foundation does with Sherwood Ford, there are many more events located throughout Alberta aimed at raising awareness and donations for families and individuals dealing with cancer.

Anyone interested in learning more about the efforts that the team at Sherwood Ford is taking to combat cancer are advised to visit the dealership's website, www.sherwoodford.ca. On the dealership's Community Blog, interested citizens can read up about the ways Sherwood Ford is making a difference in their community with events such as the All-Ford Classic Car Show, and the dealership's participation in the WE Scare Hunger Food Drive. Questions about how to help, or about future fundraisers can be directed to Sherwood Ford at (780) 417-2985 or 2540 Broadmoor Boulevard in Sherwood Park.
