Baltimore Awards New Flyer a Contract for 140 Clean Diesel Buses


ST. CLOUD, MN, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW/ - (TSX: NFI) New Flyer of America Inc. ("New Flyer"), the U.S. subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. ("NFI Group"), the largest transit bus and motor coach manufacturer and parts distributor in North America, today announced that Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) acting through the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) has awarded New Flyer with a contract for 140 Xcelsior® clean diesel, forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses.

The buses will be deployed on MTA's BaltimoreLink starting 2018, supporting both CityLink and LocalLink routes that move more than 7 million people per month. MTA fleet expansion is a result of its focus on delivering safe, efficient, and reliable transit services across Maryland offering world-class customer service.
