MTLàTABLE 2017: Montréal restaurants feature Québec ingredients

MONTRÉAL, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - To mark Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations, MTLàTABLE is paying a tribute to Québec's regions by encouraging participating restaurants to feature local ingredients on their menus. This event will give Montréalers and tourists the chance to discover some of the city's finest cuisine and the chefs whose creativity puts Montréal on the map among foodies worldwide.

MTLàTABLE 2017 (CNW Group/Tourisme Montréal)

"Since 2017 is a particularly festive and colourful year in Montréal, we wanted to spread the cheer to the rest of the province. That's why we're encouraging restaurants to showcase Québec products this year," said Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.

Tourisme Montréal today published the list of 175 restaurants participating in the 6th edition of MTLàTABLE. From November 2 to 16, participating restaurants will offer fixed-price dinner menus for $21, $31 or $41 (or brunch for $15). This epicurean event, which is being presented by Aeroplan, the coalition program that brings its members closer to the people and places that matter most, has become one of the city's key fall happenings. There are many activities on the agenda, including the following:

Tasting tours
Tourists and locals alike are invited to rediscover Montréal's history and culinary roots through various guided neighbourhood tours. Qualified guides will serve up savoury stories about Montréal's past on a number of different routes.

Special restaurant events
Participate in special events, dinner with live music, mixology, tastings and more in several participating restaurants.

Wine events
This year, the SAQ is holding its 10th annual Salon des Vins d'Importation Privée, the largest gathering of artisanal winemakers in Canada. In addition, La Grande Dégustation de Montréal will take place from November 2 to 4. Here, some 200 wine producers, distillers and brewers come together to share their passion with more than 13,000 wine, beer and spirit lovers, connoisseurs and professionals in what promises to be a very special experience.

Tourisme Montréal created MTLàTABLE as an opportunity to promote local cuisine and get people out enjoying great food together. Montréal's restaurant week aims to showcase the originality and diversity of Montréal fare while enticing patrons into restaurants during the month of November by offering fixed-price set menus. For locals and visitors, it's a chance to explore the flavours of Montréal's dynamic food scene. Share the fun and your favourite finds using the #MTLaTABLE hashtag.

Presented by Aeroplan, MTLàTABLE is also made possible thanks to support from the Québec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, SAQ, Cacao Barry, ESKA, Air Canada and the Association des restaurateurs du Québec.
