MONTRÉAL, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - This morning, at the start-finish line of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, was revealed the 2018 version of a popular inscription painted onto the tarmac at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Along with the familiar "Salut Gilles", the promoters of the event have, over the past couple of days, added the words "40 ans", one year before celebrating the 40th anniversary of the maiden edition of the country's most popular sporting event in Montréal, back in 1978. To remind fans of this edition where Gilles Villeneuve famously took his first win, François Dumontier, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, took the opportunity during today's unveiling to announce that for twenty-four hours, this Sunday October 8, general admission tickets for the race on June 10, 2018, will be on sale for $19.78

"More so than any other date in its history, October 8, 1978, has transformed Canadian motorsport and given new life to the Montréal tourism industry, after Expo 67 and the summer Olympic Games. It gave our city a special status in the history of Formula 1, with Gilles' victory allowing dozens of young Canadians to dream of motorsport success", explained Mr. Dumontier. "We will be celebrating all of that next year, on June 8, 9, and 10, and that's why we have this exclusive offer of general admission tickets at $19.78 for the 2018 edition of the race."

Today's unique offer from the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada will only last twenty-four hours, from midnight to 11:59 p.m., on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Sunday general admission tickets normally sell for $99.00. This special promotion is thus an exceptional 80% discount. Those who wish to buy those tickets can order them exclusively on the event's website, at www.gpcanada.ca, between midnight and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2017. A limit of ten (10) tickets per order has been established.
