milKit Solves Tubeless Bike Tire Installation for Home Mechanics

ZURICH, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As automotive technology has advanced and become more complex, consumers face an increasing dependence on dealers and service centers for maintenance needs. The days of do-it-yourself home maintenance being commonplace are now in the past. As bicycle technology has evolved, a similar trend is occurring. The need for tools that are often expensive and bicycle model-specific is increasing, as is the required level of mechanical skill.

At least in one area, milKit aims to solve that. Much as cars and trucks shifted from inner-tube dependent tire systems to tubeless tires, bikes are following suit. The benefits of tubeless tires are better traction in a wide range of conditions, better ride comfort, and increased durability. The downside is that tubeless tires can be difficult or impossible to install without an air compressor ? an expensive investment.

The milKit Booster eliminates the need for a compressor. It pairs with a standard bicycle tire pump in a way that allows mechanics to safely, easily and inexpensively deliver the sustained burst of pressurized air required to install a tubeless tire. The Booster's clean and simple design is based on an aluminum chamber, which can be pressurized with a normal bike pump. Pressure is released into the tire via a special, high-flow valve design. There is also a blow-off valve to ensure that the chamber is never over-inflated.

This simple solution is available now at http://milkit.bike/booster for $59.99, a significant cost savings over a quality compressor and related fittings.

About milKit:

The milKit brand was created in 2015 by Swiss manufacturer, Sport Components Limited, with the successful launch of the smart tubeless valve system that makes the use and maintenance of tubeless tires easy. Product development engineer Pius Kobler and entrepreneur Sven Rizzotti, both avid mountain bikers, funded the venture with the vision to develop innovative components for the bike and outdoor market. The milKit Booster is their follow-up innovation, which further evidences the company's commitment to improving the cycling and bike maintenance experience for all users.
