Energy Vision Elects New Board Members, Including a Former NYC First Deputy Mayor, a Climate Mitigation Expert, and a Leading Attorney


NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Vision, a national non-profit championing clean, renewable, petroleum-free transportation fuels, including renewable natural gas made from organic waste, has elected three new board members: former New York City First Deputy Mayor Norman Steisel, economist and climate mitigation project expert Bipasha Chatterjee, and leading international tax lawyer Stephen Land, who is the incoming board chair. 

They are available for interviews on request and will attend an Energy Vision awards event in Manhattan on October 12, which journalists and bloggers are invited to cover.

Norman Steisel is founder, Chairman and CEO of EnEssCo Strategies, a consulting firm serving environmental services and products companies. His previous leadership positions include Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (2003-2008), First Deputy Mayor of the City of New York (1990-1994), Senior Vice President at the investment banking firm Lazard Freres & Co. (1986-1989), New York City Commissioner of Sanitation (1979-1986), New York City's First Deputy Budget Director (1974-1979), and the first civilian head of the policy, management and crime analysis division of New York City's Police Department (1972-74).

Bipasha Chatterjee has extensive experience leading projects in the areas of climate change mitigation action, the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), greenhouse gas inventory systems and renewable energy-related research. As an economist at the UK firm AEA Technology (now Ricardo-AEA) her clients included the UK Government, Grantham Institute of Climate Change, and the European Commission. Previously she worked with the UN Food and Agricultural Organization in Rome, and as a governance reform consultant for KPMG Consulting in London.  She teaches at Columbia University's Earth Institute and at Hunter College, City University of New York.

Stephen Land is recognized as one of the top international tax lawyers in the United States.  A partner in the law firm Duval & Stachenfeld LLP  and chair of its Tax Practice division, he is also the immediate past Chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association, and published extensively on tax law. Prior to that he was head of US Tax Practice at the UK law firm Linklaters LLP and practiced law at Howard, Darby & Levin (now part of Covington & Burling) and Sullivan & Cromwell.
