GO Usinage will be able to improve productivity and expand

Government of Canada awards more than $200,000 to this Trois-Pistoles business

TROIS-PISTOLES, QC, Oct. 2, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian enterprises. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle?Émard?Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, announced that GO Usinage Inc. has been granted a repayable financial contribution of $202,400. The funding has been awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

The Government of Canada support will go toward the acquisition of production equipment (machining centre, CNC lathe, folding machine, milling machines, etc.) that will help the business improve its productivity and expand.

Founded in 2015, GO Usinage is a machining company that designs, manufactures, modifies and assembles top-flight equipment parts for manufacturers in many sectors. It is the only Bas-Saint-Laurent business that offers a metal soaking method that increases the resistance and durability of parts.

David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle?Émard?Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development

"By helping businesses invest in equipment and machinery that will make them more productive and by encouraging product commercialization and market development projects, the Government of Canada is standing by its commitment to stimulate expansion, innovation and exports."

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister responsible for CED

"The community has given us a lot of support since the unfortunate incident of 2016, and the Government of Canada's financial contribution will help us reach our growth and expansion goals. The acquisition of even higher-performance equipment is a big step in that direction."

Michel Ouellet, President, GO Usinage Inc.
