ADA Carbon Solutions Will Increase Prices on all Products for Mercury Capture

LITTLETON, Colo., Oct. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ADA Carbon Solutions, LLC has announced a price increase of 10% on all mercury capture products effective on all shipments made on or after November 1, 2017 or as contracts allow.  Lower demand of these products has resulted in a higher cost per pound as fixed costs are absorbed by less volume.  The company's highly efficient plant and backward integration into lignite mining as well as ongoing efficiency efforts including a formal Six Sigma initiative has helped mitigate the need for price increases until now.  However, in order to preserve the profitability of the business and the capability to continue to invest in product innovation, an increase in selling prices is needed.  "As a supplier of a chemical necessary for compliance to the coal fired power industry, we are highly sensitive to the cost pressure that our customers face.  We have contributed significantly in support of the industry's need to reduce cost of operation both in terms of enhanced product performance and overall reductions in the cost of compliance.  We remain committed to support our valued customers to meet the challenges of today's difficult market environment," said Brian Leen, President and CEO of ADA Carbon Solutions.
