National Clean Energy Week Kicks Off With "Veritable Who's Who of the Clean Energy World"

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) kicked off its inaugural celebration in Washington, D.C. on Monday with what Politico described as "a veritable who's who of the Clean Energy World." National Clean Energy Week was conceived with the goal of advancing support of our nation's energy sector through new methods of market development, policy change, and technological innovation.

The week began with an official welcome reception hosted at Google's Headquarters in D.C. featuring NCEW leaders and former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire who provided welcoming remarks. State Proclamations declaring September 25-29, 2017 as National Clean Energy Week were also signed and presented by a number of states, including Idaho, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Wyoming.

NCEW's Symposium & Demonstration Fair serves as the centerpiece of the week and take place at the Reserve Officers Association on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. The event brings together high-profile elected leaders and national clean energy organizations for substantive discussions around commonsense solutions that directly address America's need for abundant, reliable forms of energy. Speakers include Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, U.S. House GOP Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, U.S. Congressman Derek Kilmer, U.S. Congressman Ryan Costello, and many others.

A livestream of the Symposium's proceedings will begin at 8 a.m. ET, and be hosted on NCEW's YouTube page: https://goo.gl/NcHiQ5

The list of national organizations who comprise NCEW's Steering Committee include: Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), the American Gas Association (AGA), the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), the Biomass Power Association (BPA), the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (CLNG), Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Forum, Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN), the Energy Storage Association (ESA), the National Hydropower Association (NHA), the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
