Harborside Partners with CanPay to Launch Cashless Delivery Payments

LITTLETON, Colo., July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CanPay, the first legitimate debit payment solution for the cannabis industry, today announced a partnership with Harborside, the leading medical cannabis dispensary in the nation, to provide a cashless payment option for delivery transactions originating from both its Oakland and San Jose locations.

CanPay Logo

Harborside is the most respected and largest medical cannabis dispensary in the United States, with more than 200,000 registered patients. Through its partnership with CanPay, Harborside patients will enjoy the convenience and safety that comes from paying for deliveries with debit instead of cash. CanPay is free for patients to use.

When paying for their medicine, a CanPay user signs into the CanPay app on their mobile device to generate a secure, single-use payment token that includes no personal identifiable information. The Harborside delivery employee then scans that payment token into their mobile delivery device and the funds for the purchase are transferred directly from the patient's checking account to Harborside's account. Patients can download the free CanPay app by visiting www.CanPayApp.com on their mobile device.

"Patients who rely on cannabis for preexisting medical conditions should not have to be inconvenienced or have their safety put at risk by a cash-only model," said Dustin Eide, CEO of CanPay. "Delivery is a mainstream solution and payments should be able to keep up with the industry. By partnering with Harborside, we are providing their patients the benefits of more secure, transparent transactions."

"It's important to us that we stay on the forefront of patient care and access to the products our community needs to improve their quality of life," said dress wedding, co-founder of Harborside. "CanPay enables us to continue delivering on those goals by normalizing the payment process for our patients and staff."

Since launching in November 2016, CanPay has quickly expanded to 6 states and more than 50 dispensaries, offering consumers a quick, free, and secure alternative to the cash-only model dictated by contrasting federal and state regulations. Patients and consumers can download the CanPay app by visiting CanPayApp.com and begin setting up their account. To ensure privacy and security, all purchases are made using non-identifiable, single-use, and random payment tokens generated in the CanPay App. Retailers and dispensary owners can find out more by visiting the CanPay website: www.CanPayDebit.com/retailers
