The Starr Conspiracy Intelligence Unit Appoints New Chief

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 04, 2017) - The Starr Conspiracy, a strategic marketing and advertising firm specializing in human capital management companies, proudly announces the appointment of widely respected industry thought leader Jonathan Goodman as chief of its namesake Intelligence Unit.

In his new role, Goodman will lead the unit's growth, profitability, service innovation, and client delivery. He will steer the agency into its next phase of service delivery -- from an emphasis on single-unit offerings to an integrated marketing approach that includes strategy, message, brand, and promotion.

"I am honored to pass the reins to Jonathan. During his tenure, he has become an integral part of our leadership team and clients ask for him by name," said Steve Smith, Starr Conspiracy partner and former chief of The Starr Conspiracy Intelligence Unit. "Our future is bright with Jonathan at the helm. His transformative leadership and unparalleled industry expertise make him distinctly qualified for this role."

Smith will continue to head the agency's San Francisco office, focusing on longtime Bay Area client relationships and serving a growing demand for The Starr Conspiracy's creative and promotional services with startups.

Jonathan's expertise in enterprise software and HCM technology marketing spans nearly two decades. Formerly managing director of the research, publishing, and consultancy arm of the agency, he is a thought leader who is highly respected and sought after for his deep knowledge in the HCM technology space. Jonathan works with clients to co-create across the entire spectrum of market positioning, messaging, product strategy, thought leadership, branding, and promotions. Recently, he was named to the inaugural #Engagement101 by the Employee Engagement Awards, alongside such luminaries as Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook and Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.

"We launched the Intelligence Unit in 2014 as a sub-brand of The Starr Conspiracy. We did such a good job at branding that our world-class creative and promotions work fell out of the spotlight," Goodman said. "We are a great research organization, and we're building off that to showcase how marketing, advertising, and earned media can seamlessly work together to create a powerful delivery model. This, I believe, is the B2B agency of the future."

Goodman has spent his career working for visionary company founders, redefining businesses, and developing new categories. His career trajectory began in the sales ranks of Dell where he built a record of consistently overachieving multimillion-dollar quarterly sales quotas in the U.S. small-business market and the Australia/New Zealand midmarket. Goodman, a behind-the-scenes advisor to some of the most well-respected HCM brands, earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, a nationally recognized liberal arts university.
