Tamara Hirsh to Step Down as President of Colombian Company NewCanna SAS and Affiliate NewCanna Hub

TORONTO, Oct. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jamaica Cannabis Estates Ltd. (JCE) today announced that its CEO Tamara Hirsh has decided to step down from her role as president of NewCanna SAS and leave the organization and its affiliate NewCanna Hub effective Oct. 16, 2018. Hirsh's departure decision was made to enable her to concentrate on her role as CEO of Jamaica Cannabis Estates to lead its strategic transformation and drive its long-term growth both in Jamaica and Canada. In addition, Daniel Nossey has decided to step down from his role as CPO of NewCanna SAS and leave the company effective Oct. 16, 2018. Nossey will join Hirsh in leading JCE through its next phase of cannabis genetic innovation and product development.

"The deep industry knowledge held by both Hirsh and Nossey, combined with each of their proven abilities to cultivate strategic business partnerships, will be a valuable asset to our company as we continue to move into this new cannabis era. We are looking forward to working very closely with each of them as we roll out our global vision," said Jamaica Cannabis Estates' President Michael Lee Chin Jr.

"During this pivotal time for cannabis companies both in Canada and abroad and after careful consideration, I have made the decision to depart NewCanna Hub and focus my full attention on my role as CEO of Jamaica Cannabis Estates. Canada's approaching legalization will impact cannabis commercialization across the globe and it's important for JCE to align with strategic partners who share the company's scope of focus and global mandate. I wish NewCanna SAS the best of success for the future."

Jamaica Cannabis Estates Ltd. is cultivating two parcels of land previously operated by renowned Wallenford Coffee Company, located just outside of tourist mecca Montego Bay, and has recently entered into a supply agreement with Grogenex Genetics whereby Grogenex will supply JCE with its award-winning cannabis strains and provide consultation services for the company's cultivation.

The above departures are not related to any disagreement with NewCanna regarding financial disclosures, accounting or business matters.
