Guardian Recovery Network Outreach Ambassador Erik Coleman Partners With NY State Office

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Guardian Recovery Network's Outreach Ambassador Erik Coleman recently partnered with The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) in a public service campaign to raise awareness about addiction among teens and young adults.

The three part NYS OASAS video campaign, called "You Can Be the Difference," features Coleman as he discusses his experiences of addiction within his own family. He challenges people to leverage negative circumstances to promote positive change and momentum for combating addiction in young populations.

Coleman is a former player in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the New York Jets as a Safet in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions, as well as college football at Washington State. He serves as an amazing example of how people can use their platform and celebrity-status to promote betterment in the community.

One of the major goals of the "You Can Be the Difference" campaign is to raise awareness about the danger and risks of opioids. The opioid addiction pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 72,000 Americans in 2017 ? the most recent year for which data are available. The campaign serves as a reminder for people that there are places to go for help.

Guardian's Intensive Outpatient Program provides comprehensive, integrated outpatient addiction recovery services to men and women seeking aftercare solutions in Delray Beach, FL. The program aims to rebuild communities by rebuilding individuals transitioning out of residential treatment through clinically-excellent, individualized programming and establishing the framework for long-term recovery.
