Early in her career, Kerr graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with an Undergraduate degree in Psychology. Thereafter, Kerr would then go on to attain her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Rehabilitation. Having attained several prominent certifications throughout the years, Kerr is a Licensed Professional Counselor and credentialed as a Certified Advanced Addictions Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

Charitable to various organizations, Kerr is an avid member of her local church and food pantry.
