"We are very pleased to be supporting Développement économique Saint-Laurent and its division, Export Montréal Ouest, which assists SMEs in the central-west and western regions of the Island of Montreal in their export market diversification and development efforts. The activities generated by the project will benefit a number of manufacturing SMEs and value-added service companies in the area served by Export Montréal Ouest. We have full confidence in the organization's ability to help businesses look to the future and prosper."
Emmanuella Lambropoulos, MP for Saint-Laurent
"CED is proud of the funding it has provided for ORPEXes since their creation in 1990. Unique to Quebec, these organizations contribute, not only to the attainment of CED's global commercialization and positioning targets for businesses, but also to the ambitious goal set by the Government of Canada, namely a 30% increase in Canadian exports by 2025. By focusing on the importance of innovation, this renewed funding will equip Quebec businesses with the tools they need to favourably position themselves in a highly competitive global ecosystem."
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister responsible for CED
"By looking beyond their boundaries, Canadian businesses are not only fostering their profitability and growth, but are also showcasing the quality of local products and services on the international stage. The government's support for the ORPEXes is key in fostering the development of these businesses' export projects. By providing DESTL with $360,000 to support the activities of Export Montréal Ouest, CED is helping to reinforce ExMO's commitment to ensure the international promotion of the businesses within its region."
