SILVER SPRING, Md., Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A Wider Circle, a national leader in the movement to eradicate poverty in the United States, announced that it will host a National Forum on Ending Poverty at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Wednesday October 17th, 2018 from 9:00am ? 12:30pm.
The event will feature Linda Cliatt-Wayman, former principal of Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion High School and author of Lead Fearlessly, Love Hard, as well as Matt Prichard, President and Executive Director of HomeStart, one of the most effective homelessness prevention programs in the United States ? a program that saves the state of Massachusetts twelve million dollars per year.
A Wider Circle Founder and President, Dr. Mark Bergel will present keynote remarks and moderate a panel on Racial Equity and Economic Opportunity featuring George Jones, CEO of Bread for the City and Leigh Tivol, VP of Strategy & Engagement of Prosperity Now. The event is sponsored by the World Bank Group.
