505 Southwestern® announces partnership with University of Southern California

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 505 Southwestern® and the University of Southern California have announced that 505 Southwestern® will become the title sponsor of the Scholarship Club Terrace at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The brand will be offering its USC co-branded premium tortilla chips in area retailers along with its Hatch Valley green chile and salsas.  Proceeds from the sales of chips will benefit the University.

Co-branded chips available in Southern California

"As we expand our presence in the Los Angeles market, we are proud to be partnering with a well-respected institution like USC. Our premium chip and dip products are a great fit for the avid Trojan fan," said Rob Holland, CEO of Flagship Food Group.  "Every bag supports USC athletics and is a delicious addition for fans' game day spreads."

"When we learned about 505, its line of premium salsas, its non-GMO, Hatch Valley green chile, and its other food products, we thought it would be a natural fit with our students, alumni, and fans," added USC Sports Properties/Fox Sports.

505 sells a broad line of salsas, queso, and sauces, all made with authentic green chiles from the famous Hatch Valley region of New Mexico. 505 calls the Hatch Valley the "Napa Valley of green chile," and says that its American-grown ingredients are superior to other sauces and salsas. Many of its products are certified Non-GMO. 505 calls itself the "craft beer of salsa." Consumers are shifting away from large, national brands in favor of more unique brands with local ties, and 505 fits the bill.

In 2018, 505 added stone-ground corn tortilla chips to its product line, including its "Hint of Hatch" offering dusted with Hatch Valley green chile.  "These chips are simply amazing," added Holland.

505 has announced other partnerships with sports teams, including the Denver Broncos, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Los Angeles Angels. 505 says that Los Angeles is a focus market for its products.
