3 Men Movers Honored as a Houston Business Journal Best Places to Work Finalist

HOUSTON, Sept. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Houston Business Journal just released the 2018 Best Places to Work Finalists, and Houston's very own 3 Men Movers made it! Considering that the moving industry isn't exactly known for being on the cutting edge--more like a little rough around the edges!--the nomination is a great honor for 3 Men Movers and may be the first time ever a moving company has made the list..

3 Men Movers is making moving fun and attracting top talent.

Upon hearing the news, Jacky Noons, CEO, said, "We call ourselves the 'Google' of movers, but most people don't associate advanced technology and an outstanding user experience with a moving company. That's why once we get talent in the door, we try to set ourselves apart with awesome perks and an exciting forward-thinking vision. Becoming a Best Places to Work Finalist validates the wonderful culture we've developed here."

The 2018 Best Places to Work list features 102 Texas companies that are known for offering perks that are hard to find, like work-life balance and unlimited paid time off. In 3 Men Movers' case, they stood out by introducing two big perks this year: a Dream Manager and a Volunteer Time Off program.

They describe their Dream Manager as a helpful hybrid between a financial advisor and a life coach. Their Dream Manager meets with each employee monthly and assists them as they strive to improve financially, personally, and/or professionally. Whether their dream is big or small, related to work or not, their goal is to help employees put one foot in front of the other by creating a personalized roadmap. Their participation in the program is over 90% making it a big hit amongst employees.

3 Men Movers also wanted to promote activities that enhance and serve the communities in which they live and work by rolling out a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program. Are their employees taking advantage? Their Marketing Manager, Kate Sanderlin, says they are, "Every Thursday during the month of August, there were groups of 3 to 5 employees using their VTO at Kids' Meals Houston. People were coming back to the office with a big smile on their face... they felt good about doing good."

In order to compile all 102 companies on the list, the Houston Business Journal arranged for employees of businesses of all sizes--from 10 to over 500 employees--to take an online survey for feedback on their satisfaction at work. Some of the areas the employees rated included goals, flexibility, compensation and opportunity for advancement.

On October 24th, the Houston Business Journal will choose the top business from each of the four categories of company sizes--as well as celebrate all the companies on the list--at the 2018 Best Places to Work Awards Ceremony. Whether you register to attend the event or not, consider applying to 3 Men Movers - they are flipping the moving industry perception on it's head and having fun doing it!
