A Wider Circle to Honor Ann & Donald Brown and JBG Smith at 2018 Community Ball


SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A Wider Circle, a leading organization in the movement to eradicate poverty, is proud to announce that the Honorable Ann W. Brown and Mr. Donald A. Brown have been selected to receive the Heroes of the Movement Award and JBG Smith will receive the Distinguished Corporate Service Award. Both awards will be presented at The Community Ball on September 27th at the National Building Museum.

Capping off an illustrious career in public service, the Honorable Ann W. Brown was appointed by President Clinton as Chair of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in 1994.  A lawyer by training, Donald Brown co-founded The JBG Companies and served as a senior principal of the company from 1960 to 1996.  Since retiring, Ann and Don Brown are active members of the Florida and Washington communities and have a deep commitment to A Wider Circle and the fight to eradicate poverty.
