Opened in September last year, the exhibition Exquisite Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages was an enormous success which received wide recognition from local art enthusiasts in Vancouver. Yuyi--The Emperor's Art Dream is another significant exhibition of jade carvings series organized by Poly Culture Art Center. Jade has been endowed with profound religious, moral, aesthetic and cultural connotations in China. In the 6,000-year jade history, Emperor Qianlong's constant strive for perfection and cultural innovation made the jade carvings from Qing Dynasty an insurmountable peak.

Seeking inspiration in ancient jade and aiming to recreate new styles with innovation, Emperor Qianlong personally participated in the conceptual design of jade carvings whenever there were excellent jade stones. It was during the period that Emperor Qianlong made a revolutionary innovation in jade carvings by integrating the traditional jade culture with imperial aesthetic taste. Owing to major breakthroughs of design, craftsmanship and aesthetics, Qianlong Jade Carvings became famous and desirable all over the world.

In this autumn, Poly Culture Art Center will present the Qianlong jade carvings preserved from the Qing Dynasty to share the charm of royal jade. The jade carvings selected in this exhibition not only feature the most delicate decorative artworks, but also practical housewares, and small jade ornaments that can be played in hand, allowing the audience to appreciate the beauty of Qianlong jade carvings from a close distance.

The exhibition will be on display from September 20th to November 28th, 2018. Poly Culture Art Center will organize an array of events such as jade lectures and cultural salons. Come to visit our art center and enjoy the beauty of jade! Please visit www.polyculture.us for more information.
