ROCKLAND, Maine, Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Redzone Wireless, LLC, a Maine-based 5G broadband innovation and services company, announced that it has completed construction and activated expanded wireless broadband network coverage to 33,000 more Maine homes providing choices for fast, affordable, local high speed Internet.
With this expansion, Redzone's total Maine coverage now exceeds 250,000 households ? rapidly approaching 50% of the entire state. Redzone's next generation fixed wireless broadband network operates on multiple wireless frequency bands including FCC licensed 2.5 GHz spectrum, and is considered the largest and most advanced fixed wireless deployment of it's kind in the US.
The current expansion was entirely privately funded, and represents a significant portion of Redzone's previously announced 2018 multi million-dollar expansion. Redzone has also reaffirmed it's 2018 plans to further extend broadband services to an additional 25,000 Maine locations by the end of the year.
Redzone offers a range of broadband plan and price options ? including the most popular among Maine cord cutters which delivers FCC recommended 25 Mbps download speeds.
