NJ Top Docs Proudly Presents Dr. Paul Kovatis For Another Year

SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J., Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NJ Top Docs is proud to present Dr. Paul Kovatis for another year. Dr. Kovatis is known throughout the tri-state area for his expertise with complex lower-extremity fractures. Since completing a fellowship in leg, foot and ankle orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, he has been providing patients with high-quality care for more than two decades.

Walking in my particular path of life will hopefully be a short chapter in a far longer book and brief preparation for what the future holds. -Dr. Kovatis

Dr. Kovatis performs surgeries on patients referred by other physicians and trauma centers. His dedication to his craft has led to many accolades, attesting to his talent. Dr. Kovatis has peer reviewed national and international publications. He also remains a passionate patient advocate - often counseling new patients on the risks, benefits, realistic expectations, and potential pitfalls of new but often unproven technologies. In this era of social media, Dr. Kovatis routinely counsels preoperative patients regarding realistic expectations and limits of all surgeries pertinent to his subspecialty whose catchment area extends from the Jersey shore to Pennsylvania and the NY Metro region.

Outside the office, Dr. Kovatis has treated and counseled wounded warriors and is a member of numerous organizations dedicated to helping military personnel. Dr. Kovatis also treats athletes of all levels from professional to the proverbial weekend warrior. In this regard he has been active with numerous local and New York sports teams and has been honored by the military and sports organizations including throwing out the first pitch at a mets game on a national fox tv game of the week. Dr Kovatis remains active as the alumni representative, instructor, and a speaker at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

His physician leadership roles included being the only orthopedic representative on the board of governors, credentials committee, board of trustees and president and chairman of the medical board compromising over two thousand physicians adjudicating the numerous policies and procedures of the largest medical facility in the state In most of those positions he was the youngest to do so.

His philanthropy ranges from donating VIP seats to Mets baseball games and Jets football tickets to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, Tomorrow's Children Fund for Kids with Cancer and the US Navy Seals Foundation.

Dr. Kovatis is patriotic and has a military passion rooted from his military family's history, especially in regards to his father, the late Colonel Peter Kovatis, a member of the Original Flyer Tigers and five other immediate family members buried with Purple Heart honors in Arlington National Cemetery. Dr. Kovatis has also attended and spoken at Walter Reed Medical Center on orthopedic injuries focusing on the potential use of battlefield techniques in the civilian population.
