abas USA Response to EEOC Complaint

STERLING, Va., Sept. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In response to claims made yesterday that abas USA feels are false and reckless, the company makes the following statement:

The allegations against abas USA, Inc. in the EEOC complaint filed by the Communications Workers of America are irresponsible and false. We did not use targeted Facebook ads to exclude women. Just the opposite. We used a targeted ad in Facebook to specifically include women. In the Facebook ad that we used to recruit a Sales Development Representative, we used the following advertisement targeted for women applicants:

Simultaneously with the ad targeted towards women, because abas USA is an equal opportunity employer, we ran the following ad targeted towards men with identical text and link but with a picture of a man:

We ran the ads together for one week, and they produced no applicants. This was the first and last time that we used Facebook ads targeted towards men and women.

Fortunately, we also posted the position on our website, our Facebook page, and on a variety of other online job boards including Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster, CareerBuilder and Craigslist.

abas USA, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in our hiring process. Nothing in our process in recruiting applicants for the Sales Development Representative position excluded women. To suggest otherwise is irresponsible and ignores the truth. We are confident that the EEOC investigation will clear us from these false accusations.
